God Hates Pride

16 The Lord hates six things;
in fact, seven are detestable to him:
17 arrogant eyes, a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that plots wicked schemes,
feet eager to run to evil,
19 a lying witness who gives false testimony,
and one who stirs up trouble among brothers. —Proverbs 6:16-19

Everyone with a proud heart is detestable to the Lord;
be assured, he will not go unpunished. —Proverbs 16:5

Pride Is The Fuel For Sin

18 Pride comes before destruction,
and an arrogant spirit before a fall.
19 Better to be lowly of spirit with the humble
than to divide plunder with the proud. —Proverbs 16:18-19

Before his downfall a person’s heart is proud,
but humility comes before honor. —Proverbs 18:12

Pride Is The Enemy of Transformation

There is a way that seems right to a person,
but its end is the way to death. —Proverbs 14:12

But he gives greater grace. Therefore he says:
God resists the proud
but gives grace to the humble. —James 4:6
