Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.”  —Matthew 22:37

How many times have we read this passage, taken it at face value, and moved on?

Our obedience to these words of Jesus are essential to our salvation.

• Heart - greek word “kardia” meaning center/seat of spiritual life.  Fountain of thoughts, passions, desires, purposes, endeavors.
• Soul - greek word “psyche” meaning breath.
• Mind - greek word “dianoia” meaning way of thinking, feeling, desiring, and understanding.

How does this insight change your understanding of how Jesus tells us to love God?

We have one heart, mind, and soul.  How are we choosing to use/fill them?

How can we do better?

• Commit to take action (regardless of past).
• Slow down and simplify.
• Minimize/optimize your time with technology, especially your phone.
• Spend dedicated time, daily, in study of God’s word and prayer.
• Thank God in every situation, throughout every day.

What will you commit to do to love God more?

When we love God with all our heart, soul, mind…..He will fill our heart , soul, mind.
