Missional Joy

“May the God of hope fill you with all JOY and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
-Romans 15:13 NIV

-Missional joy requires joy to be our way of living.

-Things don’t have to be perfect for you to have joy.

*King David’s Joy *

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you.
-Psalm 51: 10-13 (NIV)

-Joy comes when you make peace with who you are, why you are, and how you are.

-You Can’t Give People What You Don’t Have.

Joy Thrives Through Worship

*Worship God with your WHOLE life
*Allow Jesus to be the object of your desires
*Live a life of passion & pursue your God-given purpose
*Openly celebrate the person & presence of Jesus

-People Can Only Receive What We Are Willing to Release.

How To Spread Your Joy

*Share what God is doing in you and for you EVERY time you get a chance.

*Apologize when you are wrong.

*Freely forgive.

*Be patient with others.

*Do good on purpose.

*Speak light into darkness.

*Prayer for Serenity *

God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace;
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it;
Trusting that You will make all things right
If I surrender to Your will;
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.
