Seasons of waiting come into our lives, and we anticipate what God is going to do. We pray. We fast. We may even question what we heard and wonder why He’s taking His time.

Just because we’re waiting doesn’t mean God’s behind. He hasn’t forgotten all that He said. What He has promised will come to pass, but it will be when He declares it to be. His timing is always best.

Yet during these seasons, we often forget what He promised. We start looking for something new - a new word, a new dream, a new expectation, anything that makes us feel alive again - when all He wants us to do is go back and steward the word He’s already given us.

Journal: Take a minute and think back on a word that God has given you that maybe you’ve forgotten about while in a season of waiting.

It’s important that we not only listen when God speaks, but also treasure what He says and keep it before us. How many times do we hear a word from God but don’t write it down?

The world in which we live is loud. It’s fast, and it’s distracting. It’s not that God isn’t speaking. We just get caught up in the noise, and we forget. (Habakkuk 2:1-3)

Read: Mark 4:13-20

Many of us have heard this parable since we were young. Little did we know how important it is for us to understand what it means. If we don’t grasp this principle of the good soil, we cannot understand any other teaching of Jesus.

The question isn’t if God is speaking. The question is if we are in the posture of receiving. We can’t expect His word to take root in our hearts if we’ve done nothing to prepare the soil for it to be planted.

God is inviting us to take part in His promises and miracles. He wants to give us everything He’s said He would. It’s up to us to prepare our hearts to receive. We have to claim His word with our mouths, write it down and keep it before us, and trust that it will be fulfilled in His perfect time.

Journal: After listening to the messages from Opendoor Conference 2022, what previous word, dream, or vision did God remind you of or what new word, dream, or vision did He give you?

Activation: Take what you journaled and keep it in a place where you can read it daily and claim these promises out loud with your mouth.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for speaking to me. I know Your promises are true. Forgive me for my impatience in the waiting. Help me trust in You. I will strive daily to be faithful and speak the promises You have given me. {Read aloud the word, dream, or vision He has given you} I pray that I never doubt in You and Your wisdom, instead may I acknowlege You in all my ways so that You may grant me patience and direct my paths in line with Your word.
