Day 244 - A Resounding Knock
Amelia Hunter and Emily Green
“Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. 21 Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne. 22 Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.” - Revelation 3:20-22 NLT
We have two choices: We can open the door or keep the door closed.
We can see how our God will move in our circumstances, or we can move on our own behalf. Jesus says that He stands at the door and knocks. This means He is seeking a response from us. He is seeking us out in our brokenness. He is seeking us out in our loneliness. He is seeking us out in our bitterness and our hurt. He is longing for us to open the door so that He can come in and rearrange things and make His will perfect in our lives.
When it comes to our mental health, we have a choice. We can choose to keep the door shut, or we can choose to open the door and let Christ rule in our minds (Colossians 3:15). The only way to achieve true mental health is by opening the door to Jesus and His righteous rule and reign!
Next Steps
- Think about it: In what situation do you need to “open the door” for Jesus?
- Action Step: Identify the thing that seems the most impossible to you. Then, pray and invite Jesus to do something great in that area!
