The “EMPTY TOMB” gives us HOPE!
• Peter called it a “

” HOPE (I Pet. 1:3 – NIV).
- This HOPE is a HOPE (I Pet. 1:4 – NIV)
- .3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you,

I. THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS IS THE GAME-CHANGER.

*The resurrection IS

(I Cor. 15:13 – NIV). 13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised.
*The Apostle Paul was very clear what gave him his HOPE (I Cor. 15:3-7 – NIV). 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas,[b] and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles
• “FIRST IMPORTANCE”

II. 4 REASONS WHY THE RESURRECTION IS A GAME-CHANGER.

1) The RESURRECTION is a game-changer because it proves Jesus’ words to be

.
• Jesus told His Disciples on ( ) separate occasions he would rise from the dead.
- Mt. 20:17-19; Mk. 8:31-32 – NLT; Jn. 2:19 - NIV.
• The religious leaders even remembered Jesus saying He would rise from the dead (Matt. 27:62-63 – NIV).
• The resurrection is the reason WHY the Disciples suffering.
- I Cor. 15:29-32; Phps. 3:7-8 – NIV.

2) The RESURRECTION is a game-changer because it is the

of the gospel.
• The Resurrection is the that ignites the Christian’s message to the world.
- What was at the of Peter’s message on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:32 - NIV)?
- What continued to be the Apostles fuel throughout their preaching – (4:2 – NIV & 4:33 - NLT)?

3) The RESURRECTION is also a game-changer because it means I have

of my sins.
• Before the resurrection, we were all “up a creek without a paddle” (I Cor. 15:17 – NLT). 17 And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins.
• After the Resurrection, GOD declared His satisfaction and approval of the Christ made for ALL of us (Col. 2:13-14 - NLT). 13 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.

4) And finally, the RESURRECTION is a game-changer because it means that death is

.

• The resurrection gives us

(I Cor. 15:54b-55 - NIV)! 54…“Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
55 “Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”
