what did you hear this week… did it draw you closer to God (dating)…
Psa 85:8… “I will hear what God says… He speaks peace, not foolishness…”
shalom… completeness, welfare, peace, safety, health, prosperity, contentment…
Isa 30:21… “your ears will hear a voice saying… this is the way, walk in it…”
Eze 3:10… “listen carefully to My words… receive in heart… hear with your ears…”
Mark 4:24-25… “pay close attention to what you hear… the closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given… and you will receive even more…”
John 10:27… “My sheep listen to My voice… I know them and they follow Me…”
Rev 3:20-22… “if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in… whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches…”
wisdom of world is foolishness… God’s wisdom brings us everything we need…
Eph 1:17… “pray God would give you Spirit of wisdom… in knowledge of Him…”
1Cor 3:18-23… “wisdom of this world is foolishness to God… He catches the wise in their false wisdom… He knows the thoughts of the wise are futile… let no one boast in men… for all things are yours… and you belong to Christ…”
2Pet 1:1-3… “everything required for life… found in the knowledge of Him…”
hearing messages about Jesus is most effective, successful action you can do… and it leads to our second resolution for 2023… believe… pray…
Rom 10:14-17… “faith comes by hearing… hearing message about Christ…”
Rom 4:18… “he believed… he became… what had been spoken…”
Rom 5:17… “receive overflow of grace… gift of righteousness… reign in life…”
how important are words… think about these eight…
Rom 4:18… “he believed… he became… what had been spoken…”
words are incredibly important… all of us have had good and bad things spoken about us… and to us… doesn’t mean we become those things… unless we believe them… but what we hear leads to what we believe… what do you hear most…
Prov 18:21… “words kill, words give life… either poison or fruit… you choose…”
be very careful what you hear… and say… leads to believing and becoming…
Lev 19:16… “do not spread gossip… do not jeopardize the life of your neighbor…”
Prov 16:28… “a troublemaker spreads strife… gossip separates friends…”
Prov 17:4… “wrongdoers eagerly listen to gossip… liars pay attention to slander…”
Prov 26:20… “without wood, fire goes out… without gossip, a quarrel dies down…”
Jesus changed things… OC of doing is useless… NC is all about believing…
Heb 7-10… “declared OC is useless… first is obsolete… NC is better with better promises…”
John 6:28-29… “what can we do to perform the works of God… Jesus replied, this is the only work God wants from you, believe in the One that He sent…”
1John 3:22-23… “this is His command… believe in the name of His Son Jesus…”
doesn’t mean we do nothing… but Jesus said believing comes before doing… work out what God has already given us… not work in order to get it…
1Cor 15:10-11… “worked harder than anyone… not I… but grace in me…”
Gal 2:16… “no one is justified by works of the law… but by believing in Jesus…”
Eph 2:8-10… “His workmanship… created in Christ… to do good works…”
Phil 2:12-13… “work out your salvation with fear and trembling… for it is God who works in you… giving you desire and power to fulfill His good purpose…”
receive what you believe… believe what you hear… devil speaks in 1st person… I’m a loser, I’m worthless, I’m stupid, I’m ugly… uses people to speak (church)…
John 8:44… “devil is a murderer and a liar… no truth in him… father of lies…”
2Cor 11:14-15… “satan disguises himself as an angel of light…”
Eph 6:11-12… “stand against schemes of devil… struggle not against flesh and blood…”
Rev 12:10… “accuser of our brothers and sisters… accuses them day and night…”
how do you know what to believe… starts with who you listen to (not me)…
Num 23:19… “God is not a man, that He might lie… does He speak and not fulfill…”
John 14:6… “I am the way, the truth, and the life…”
John 16:13… “the HS will guide you into all truth…”
Acts 17:11… “received word with eagerness… examined Scripture to see if true…”
Heb 6:18… “He guaranteed promise with an oath… impossible for God to lie…”
1John 2:27… “received HS… teaches you everything… what He teaches is true…”
devil says behavior determines identity (up/down)… that’s a lie… God says identity determines behavior… that’s truth… behavior follows what you hear and believe…
Rom 6:16-20… “slaves of one you obey… sin leading to death or obedience leading to righteousness… were slaves of sin… now slaves to righteousness (n)… leads to holiness…”
1Cor 15:34… “awake to righteousness (n)… and sin (v) not…”
must ask… does this voice I’m hearing agree with what God says about me… does this voice agree with what God wants me to say or to do… if not, ignore it…
Prov 17:15… “acquitting guilty… condemning righteous… detestable to God…”
Micah 6:8… “act justly… love mercy… walk humbly with your God…”
Mark 1:11… “this is My beloved child… I am fully pleased with you…”
Mark 16:15-18… “preach gospel… cast out demons… speak in tongues… heal sick…”
Matt 6:25-34… “seek first His righteousness…”
Rom 12:2… “do not be conformed to world… be transformed by renewing of your mind…”

important to hear God’s voice… to believe that above everything else… that will allow you to receive all He has given you thru Jesus… pray…
John 5; 8… “everything my Father says about me is true… your approval or disapproval means nothing to me… for my Father says glorious things about me…”
I seek not to understand in order that I may believe. I believe in order that I may understand; for I believe for this reason… that unless I believe, I cannot understand. —Anselm of Canterbury
