Built on the Bible

Built on the Bible - The Bible, God’s revealed Truth, without fault or error in everything it teaches, is the foundation and final authority for all that the Church and follower of Jesus does.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. —2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT)

The Bible is:

1.) God’s Revealed Truth
2.) Without fault or error

“The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. 11It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it. —Isaiah 55:10-11 (NLT)

3.) Our foundation and final authority as followers of Christ

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. —2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT)

“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. 26But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. 27When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.” —Matthew 7:24-27 (NLT)

What does the Bible do?

  1. Teaches us what is true
  2. Corrects and directs us
  3. Gives us hope
  4. Can keep us from sin

How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word. 10I have tried hard to find you— don’t let me wander from your commands. 11I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. 12I praise you, O LORD; teach me your decrees. —Psalms 119:9-12 (NLT)

Reading the Bible is not about doing for God… It’s about being with God.
