Message Notes
Jesus is incredible, and he’s worth following with your whole life.
“Later on, after John was arrested, Jesus went into Galilee, where he preached God’s Good News. ‘The time promised by God has come at last!’ he announced. ‘The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!’” —Mark 1:14-15 (NLT)
“Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’” —John 7:37b-38 (NLT)
“One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. Jesus called out to them, ‘Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!’ And they left their nets at once and followed him. A little farther up the shore Jesus saw Zebedee’s sons, James and John, in a boat repairing their nets. He called them at once, and they also followed him, leaving their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired men.” —Mark 1:16-20 (NLT)
It doesn’t matter if you are in a season of working or a season of repairing what’s broken, Jesus will invite you to be a part of his work
“Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” —Mark 1:17 (NLT)
We will either be angry, apathetic, or awakened towards the lostness of our community.
“We draw people to Christ not by loudly discrediting what they believe, by telling them how wrong they are and how right we are, but by showing them a light that is so lovely that they want with all their hearts to know the source of it.” —Madeleine L’Engle
“We have to own the lostness of our community.” —Brian Bloye
Each of us has a personal responsibility to share the Gospel with those around us.
Fishing for people in today’s culture requires the foundation of a personal relationship.
