Group-on
Jesus invented it

March 6th & 10th, 2019

“Getting a group” is not about something for you simply to do, it is vital to God’s biblical plan.

Jesus is passionate about community and He wants us to be.

“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” —John 15:12

“I pray…. that they may be one even as we are one. I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me.” —John 17:23

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” —John 13:34-35

He Served them.

He leveraged His abilities for their needs.

As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,”Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” At once they left their nets and followed him.
When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets. Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him. —Mark 1:16-20

He shared in their pain and their sorrow.

He lived among them.

He bridged the gap to get to them.

God has called the church to create environments where authentic community can take place!

  • Are you serving others?
  • Are you leveraging your life for others?
  • Do you share in the pain of others?
  • Are you really involved in people’s lives?
  • Are you bridging the gap to get to others?

Jesus was passionate about community and He wants us to be.

We were created by a Community, in the image of a Community, to live in community for the glory of THE Community.
