What is Unity?

“I have given them the glory You gave Me, so they may be one as We are one. I am in them and You are in Me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that You sent Me and that You love them as much as You love Me.” —John 17:22-23

Our Unity Impacts a Broken World

“I pray that they will all be one, just as You and I are one—as You are in Me, Father, and I am in You. And may they be in Us so that the world will believe You sent Me.” —John 17:21

“May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that You sent Me and that You love them as much as You love Me.” —John 17:23

The more work we put towards growing together in unity the more fame Jesus receives and the more powerful our impact will be in St. Louis.

The Obstacles
1. Racism
2. Sexism
3. Envy
4. Elitism
5. Classism
6. Pride undergirding all of it

Pride is the enemy of humility, and humility is the enemy of pride.

Pride leads to conflict; those who take advice are wise. —Proverbs 13:10
…be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” —1 Peter 5:5

Be an Extension of Grace

With tender humility and quiet patience, always demonstrate gentleness and generous love toward one another, especially toward those who may try your patience. Be faithful to guard the sweet harmony of the Holy Spirit among you in the bonds of peace. —Ephesians 4:2-3
