Everyday Jesus: Everyday Jesus is a great way to deepen your Bible reading, prayer life & personal time with Christ.
• Monday: Read Jeremiah 35 The Rechabites, like Noah or Hosea in their days, stand as an example of obedience unto the Lord. Today, express your desire to be an example of obedience that He can use to win others for Him.
• Tuesday: Read Jeremiah 35, In 35:1-10 the Rechabites were told to live a very specific nomadic lifestyle, and they were content with being different. Their different lifestyle allowed them to be used in God’s bigger purpose. Ask the Lord to direct the type of life you will lead, for His glory.
• Wednesday: {Day of Fasting} Read Jeremiah 35 Wine was sat before the Rechabites. That was not a random suggestion, but a specific temptation. Ask the Lord what specific things challenge your devotion and obedience to Him.
• Thursday: Read Jeremiah 35, Acts 13:13-33, The connection of these 2 passages is that the Rechabites are a picture of obedience, and Israel is a group that hears & studies about Christ every week, but still misses Christ. Begin your time with the Lord today by asking not to just hear week after week but to truly grow deeper in obedience.
• Friday: Read Jeremiah 35 The Rechabites obeyed the little known Jonadab, while Israel didn’t listen to the Lord. Jonadab spoke once & the Rechabites listened, the Lord persistently sent servants to His people but they wouldn’t listen. Over the course of your relationship with the Lord, He’s sent “lots” of messages to you. Express your thankfulness for the Lord’s patience in persistently pursuing you. Then meditate on both the character of God and the love He has for you, evidenced in His persistence of His people.
• Saturday: Jeremiah 35 Ask the Lord to make you an example of obedience to all that come in contact with you
