Intro Notes:
9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him. 10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. 11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 12 On hearing this Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Next Step Questions
1.Spend time reviewing the talk from Sunday’s gathering. What stood out and challenged you?
2.After the story in Matthew 9:9–13 was shared, what went through your thoughts when you heard “Jesus saves ONLY sinners”?
3.When did you realize that you needed a Savior? What brought you to that point and what have you done since then that shows the fruit of your decision?
4.As Christian, how do we continue doing God’s will and not our own? Read the following verses: Romans 7:15–25, Isaiah 55:9, and Philippians 4:8.
5.We know that when we are unable to be strong, we can call on the name of Jesus and He gives us that strength. When you want to focus on your Savior and praise and worship Him, what is one way that you find helpful? Is there a way you can encourage your group in this, ex: by putting together a playlist of songs?
