_ Revelation 21:5)

Are you gonna believe what you see or what God says?
“ 7 Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old
commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment
is the word that you have heard. 8 At the same time, it is a new
commandment that I am writing to you, which is

_ in him and in
you, because the darkness is passing away and the _ light is
already shining.” (1 John 2:7–8)

How do we know what is

? He is truth. All truth is in Him because it is who He is, and
who He is, is true in you.
“And now I ask you, dear lady—not as though I were writing you a new
commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning—that we
love one another.” (2 John 1:5)

“ 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he
said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and
with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first
commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor
as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and
the Prophets.”” (Matthew 22:36–40)

The love John talks about is specific and can only happen by loving the Lord your God first.

“ 22 The disciples looked at one another, uncertain of whom he spoke. 23
One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was reclining at table at Jesus’
side, 24 so Simon Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus of whom he was
speaking. 25 So that disciple, leaning back against Jesus, said to him,
“Lord, who is it?”” (John 13:22–25)

Why was John the Disciple whom Jesus

?
“ 20 Peter turned and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them,
the one who also had leaned back against him during the supper and

had said, “Lord, who is it that is going to betray you?” 21 When Peter saw
him, he said to Jesus, “Lord, what about this man?” 22 Jesus said to him,
“If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow
me!” 23 So the saying spread abroad among the brothers that this disciple
was not to die; yet Jesus did not say to him that he was not to die, but,
“If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you?” 24 This is
the disciple who is bearing witness about these things, and who has
written these things, and we know that his testimony is

.” (John
21:20–24)

The disciple whom Jesus loved closed the book.

“And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all
things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy
and true.”” (Revelation 21:5)
