Immaturity = Seeking status for self.
Maturity = Finding God’s glory in the church.

PROBLEMS WITH CHASING STATUS FOR SELF:
Creates anxiety
Stirs division
Leads to emptiness

FINDING FREEDOM FROM CHASING STATUS:
Receive your assignment from God.
Reorder your achievements in light of eternity.
Remember your status as a child of God.

- In what ways does our culture lure us to seek our own status?
- What are some things / ways it looks to for status?
- Chasing status for self creates anxiety, stirs division, and leads to emptiness? Do you agree with this assessment? How have you seen it played out around you?
- How does following the keys to freedom from status actually bring freedom?
- What work have you done that will last for eternity?
- Read Matthew 20:1-15. How does this parable make a similar point to Paul in 1 Corinthians 3:7-8?
- Pray for each other, allowing each person to express the status they are releasing in order to live out of their status as a child of God.
