Philippians 3:10-11 (NIV®)
10 I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,11 and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.

I. God’s Faithfulness — Faith in God

A. God Watches Your Adversaries

1 Peter 2:23 (NIV®)
When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.

Hebrews 11:24-27 (NIV®)
24 By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25 He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a short time. 26 He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.

1 Peter 5:6-7, 10 (NASB®)
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, 7 casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. … 10 After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.

B. Faith Refined

1 Peter 1:6-7 (NIV®)
6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that your faith–of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire–may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

C. Faith Combined with Patience???

Hebrews 6:12 (NIV®)
We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

Hebrews 6:14-15 (NASB®)
14 saying, “I WILL SURELY BLESS YOU AND I WILL SURELY MULTIPLY YOU.” 15 And so, having patiently waited, he obtained the promise.

James 1:2-3 (NASB®)
2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces (patient) endurance.

Luke 21:17-19 (NASB®)
17 and you will be hated by all because of My name. 18 “Yet not a hair of your head will perish. 19 “By your endurance you will gain your lives.

Galatians 6:9 (NIV®)
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV®)
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

D. Redeems Time

Romans 5:6 (NIV®)
You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

Hebrews 11:11, 19 (NIV®)
11 By faith Abraham, even though he was past age–and Sarah herself was barren–was enabled to become a father because he considered him faithful who had made the promise. … 19 Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Isaac back from death.

Jonah 3:1-2 (NIV®)
1 Then the word of the LORD came to Jonah a second time: 2 “Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.”

Philippians 3:13-14 (NIV®)
13… But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I rejoice in Your great faithfulness to me. You are my rock and my redeemer. All my days are secure in Your hands. Your lovingkindness overshadows me. You have called me out of darkness and set my feet on a path of righteousness. I put my trust in You for You are a faithful God, amen.
